Happy 2021!

As we move into 2021 we want to take this time to reflect on the year that was 2020. It has been a difficult time for all of us, retail has also taken a massive impact from the virus and the multiple lockdowns meant things have changed for us too. However, it’s not been all doom and gloom and we want to celebrate with you what we’ve achieved..

We started the year on a high by relocating just down the road to Newhaven into a much bigger workshop in a newly developed business park which allowed us to get a brand-new CNC machine! Not only is this a bonus for our manufacturing process at Hello Flamingo, but we’ve also started up our new sister company, Hello CNC! This is so exciting and we’re optimistic as to how Hello CNC will grow in the foreseeable future.

Heading into summer, with the help from some wonderful volunteers, we were able to manufacture much-needed visors for frontline workers within the NHS. We donated over 3,000 visors to those that needed them most across the UK. This was such an achievement for us and it was an honour to help out those that have, and continue, to put themselves on the line to protect the well-being of us all. Thank you, NHS ♥

Further into the year, pre- and post-lockdown, we were lucky enough to work with amazing clients such as M.A.C, Stella McCartney, Browns, Gabriela Hearst and Barbour to name a few! We made some awesome props from bespoke giant replica lip gloss bottles to sustainably sourced parquet wall boards which was all great fun.

In the run up to Christmas we were approached by The Deans Senior Tea Club for our help with their new charity shop window in Rottingdean, East Sussex. We were delighted to bring something new, exciting and Christmas themed to a small local village. With the help of Hello CNC, we were able to manufacture a 1.5mx1m long miniature Rottingdean village relief prop to fit in the window, complete with the legendary smugglers’ tunnels! We very much enjoyed making this for their window and to provide the donation to such a great charity that tackles loneliness within the senior community.

Overall considering how 2020 turned out for us all, we’ve managed to keep ourselves busy helping the community and making alongside. We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved and are happy to say goodbye to 2020 and a warm welcome to 2021! Fingers crossed it’s a good one

Love,

Hello Flamingo x
