At Hello Flamingo, we knew that while it was necessary to go into ‘hibernation’ regarding all our day to day operations, we also strongly felt that as we have the assembly facilities at our disposal, a crew of really eager and available volunteers and the space to work safely, we must step in to help plug the gap of vital PPE supplies, urgently required by many frontline NHS teams, up and down the UK.
The owners of Hello Flamingo, Roo and Paula initially funded the initial manufacture of 1,200 protective face shields. These were donated to NHS teams from Brighton to Nottingham, all the way to Sunderland!
Once this first batch was delivered, we had a demand for more, therefore we raised money through our funding page – https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/flamingofaceshield– raised almost £3,000 and counting! – This enabled us to manufacture a further 1100 face shields so far.
This support and the donations we have received has been amazing, and the generosity and kind words has really made a huge difference! Hello Flamingo joined forces with some of our fellow colleagues in the industry, gaining access to design files and cutting machinery, and we would like to give massive thanks to both Stylo and Fine Cut Group for their support, it is so great our industry is pulling together.
