Browns – Jean Michel Basquiat Collaboration

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] We were so happy to be approached by the creative team at luxury fashion boutique Browns to work with them on a pop-up shop in their South Molton Street store for their collaboration with iconic artist the late Jean-Michel Basquiat, in conjunction of the exhibition of his work showing at The Barbican.. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] The team came to us with their design concept and Hello Flamingo set about building it! Two windows were partially blacked out, painted by our very own director Paula, the centre of the windows were left and exposed enlarged prints of the artist work – along with garments from the collaborative collection. Large paper prints filled other windows, with hand sketches and notes and plinths and windows had the highly recognisable ‘crown’ and ‘SAMO’ logos. A giant replica of the Mona Lisa, altered by Basquiat, hung in a window, with bespoke props (skate ramp, plinth, ball) which held product, including a...

Aquascutum – AW17

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Design direction from client: ‘Monochrome with a colour accent; a break from black and white. Colour is a powerful force; that draws our focus to the intrinsic features of the pieces photographed. Images are cropped with purpose to accentuate the beauty of the cloth, texture and details.’ [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] The client wanted to have over-sized/giant cut-outs of the campaign imagery centre-stage, as larger than life standalone props. The colour palette was mostly monochromatic, and it was Hello Flamingo’s job to drive the creative concept to include the camouflage print. So, the design team gave each of the cut-outs their own camouflage shadow – which you can find in the season’s collection. The camo shadows were set 50mm back from the photography to give a sense of depth and all the cut-outs were staggered in the window to enhance that feeling of depth. The cut-outs were huge, some were over 3m high to fill the...

T.M.Lewin – Chelsea in Bloom

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Hello Flamingo were very excited to be asked by the T.M.Lewin creative team to design and create their window display, in the King’s Road store for Chelsea in Bloom 2017. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] Working with the annual competition’s theme of Floral Safari, Hello Flamingo designed a tropical archway made up of gorgeous bright blooms. The archway perfectly framed the window with overflowing planters filled with tropical flowers and a giant lightbox with an image of an elephant. Planters made from upturned safari hats, were a playful and fun addition to the display. The theme continued inside the store with vases of the gorgeous flowers on counters. It was a real pleasure to work with this well-established British brand for such a prestigious event. We were very pleased with the outcome and the window won a bronze award. T.M Lewin – Cool Comfort

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] The team at Hello Flamingo we asked by the team at T.M. Lewin to design and manufacture a window for the launch of their new Cool Comfort shirt – which is made from an innovative moisture-wicking fabric, so the wearer can stay cool and composed – even when the heat is on. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] To create this bespoke display, the Hello Flamingo in-house team individually threaded 1000 artificial ice cubes onto nylon thread which in turn were attached to chrome champagne buckets. The buckets were suspended from the ceiling in the store window to give the impression that the mannequin was being showered in ice. Champagne buckets on the floor had the ‘ice’ spilling out onto the floor of the window, the theme continued in-store with buckets of the ice on countertops. The mannequin in the window was flanked by clear acrylic panels with water splashes, and the window had a vinyl...

Matches – London Fashion Week 2017

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] For the third year running, Hello Flamingo were asked by the creative team at Matches Fashion to work with them and their designers for London Fashion Week. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] The Ledbury Road and Marylebone store windows had showcase windows from Roksanda and Stella McCartney, among others. The Roksanda window display was created with a freestanding plywood box with a puzzle of wood offcuts in different colours and textures. Recessed shapes were made to fit the beautifully crafted handbags perfectly. The Stella McCartney window display was a real statement. A bespoke steel frame was made in-house to fit the acrylic cut out lettering, reading ‘MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS ONLY’. All the letters were cut in bold primary colours, blue, yellow and red acrylic and layered on top of each other to give depth. The Marleybone store showcased a number of the designers products in large coloured acrylic columns which stood in the window with contrasting coloured...

Matches – Wallflower

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] We were delighted to be asked again to be involved with the launch of the new season window display campaign for Matches Fashion. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] The windows were filled with bespoke MDF frames covered in sourced vintage wallpaper, which had amazing floral patterns in clashing colours. The boxes were made in differing sizes allowing them to be stacked on top and inside each other. All the boxes were manufactured and wallpapered at our workshop by in-house team of Flamingos. The scheme was a favourite of the year with the vintage wallpaper colours and patterns. The eye-catching display looked fabulous, we were very happy with the final outcome. [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Hello Flamingo were really excited to be invited by the creative team at DVF to collaborate with them again on their Christmas 2016 window scheme. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] Based the directive from DVF, the displays were made up of beautifully made structures sprayed dusky pink with a contrasting red shadow gap and plinths to display accessories. The structure in the Wimbledon store was a huge 2m x 2m. This scheme was installed in the Mayfair and Ledbury Road stores. We are so pleased with how this simple, but beautiful, scheme turned out. Laura Ashley – Picture Frames

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Hello Flamingo were delighted to be asked again by the creative team at Laura Ashley to collaborate with them on their new window scheme, launching in August 2016, which rolled out to stores across the UK and Europe. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] The inhouse Hello Flamingo design team created design concepts for all stores before progressing to prototypes and manufacture in our workshop. Almost 600 bespoke wooden picture frames were made and painted to match the season’s colour palette. In some of the frames product was suspended and others had prints from the Laura Ashley wallpaper range. Window decals were provided to create a frame around the windows. In the Westfield store, giant bespoke frames were made to display product and the rest of the window was filled with suspended frames. As always, it was a pleasure working with the Laura Ashley team to create these pretty windows. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]...

Lanvin – Inked

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Hello Flamingo were very excited to be asked to work with the very creative team at Lanvin on their most recent window displays in the Mount Street and Saville Row stores this June 2016. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] Large clear acrylic panels with high res prints of ink splats were hung at the back of the windows as a backdrop to the floating, vintage style mannequins – which had light wood articulated arms – and bespoke metal and clear acrylic shelves to display product. Each window had a different colour print and ink effect, which worked so beautifully at filling the window spaces with colour when light shone through. The high-end finish of the windows works so well in the gorgeous setting of the stores, we are very proud of the outcome. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]...

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Hello Flamingo were very happy to be asked by Uniqlo to help them to design and manufacture an instore display for their Uniqlo x Evian collaboration – to celebrate the launch of the limited edition Evian Pure Drop, a 20cl bottle of mineral water. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height="25px"][vc_column_text] Designed and manufactured by the Hello Flamingo team, freestanding and shelf units were created replicating the shape of the Evian mountain logo. The clear acrylic ‘mountains’ housed shelves for the bottles to sit on and give the impression of floating and creating the mountain outline. The displays were in Uniqlo stores in London and Paris.
